Dr. Favero obtained his MD degree from the University of British Columbia in 1980.  He then undertook a rotating internship in Scarborough, ON after which he started general practice in Surrey BC.  During his time in general practice he also worked extensively in a back pain assessment clinic.  He pursued orthopedic training at Vancouver General Hospital and became a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1987.  After completion of his specialty training in orthopedics he undertook subspecialty training in hand surgery at UBC for 6 months before going to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota for one year.  With his new subspecialty training he returned to work at VGH until he relocated his practice first to Abbotsford and subsequently to Langley, BC.  He provided both general orthopedic coverage and surgical hand care to his patients until 2003.  In 2003 he focused his practice exclusively on hand surgery and continues to expand his practice to cover patients requiring elective and emergent hand surgery.
